COPINAVAL 2024 Veracruz has established itself as one of the most important Pan-American gatherings in the naval, maritime, and port sectors, bringing together academia, industry, and public institutions in a forum for technical, scientific, cultural, and strategic dialogue, aimed at strengthening naval engineering and promoting the sustainable development of the blue economy in the Americas.
Congress Overview
The 28th COPINAVAL Veracruz 2024 was organized by the Pan-American Institute of Naval Engineering (IPIN), in coordination with the IPIN – Mexico Chapter and the University of Veracruz, through the School of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Sciences (FIMCN).
Under the theme “Toward Naval Engineering Without Borders,” the conference brought together experts, researchers, professionals, faculty members, and students from various countries in the Americas and Europe, promoting innovation, international cooperation, and sustainability in the maritime and port sector.

The 28th COPINAVAL Veracruz 2024 featured a program of social events that strengthened professional integration and cultural exchange among participants:
September 24 – Opening dinner at the conference host hotel, the Hotel Camino Real Veracruz.
• September 25 – Social cocktail reception at the COPINAVAL venue, University of Veracruz – School of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Sciences (FIMCN).
• September 26 – Social gathering at a traditional Veracruz taquería.
• September 27 – Closing dinner, featuring mariachi music.
Program for Accompanying Guests
The conference featured a Program for Accompanying Guests, designed for the partners of conference attendees, organized by the Gutiérrez Morales family.
Activities included visits to:
Veracruz Aquarium
• Wax Museum
• The city’s Historic District
• Sightseeing tours and a boat ride
• Other cultural and iconic sites in the port of Veracruz
This program reinforced the social, cultural, and family-oriented aspects of COPINAVAL, highlighting the hospitality and rich tourist attractions of the host region.
