XXX COPINAVAL: Where Naval Engineering Meets the Heart of the Amazon

“Toward a Sustainable Maritime Future: Engineering, Integration, and Innovation”

After 20 years, the Pan-American Naval Engineering Congress (COPINAVAL) returns to Brazil. In 2027, the city of Belém, in the state of Pará, will host this historic edition. Located in the heart of the Amazon, Belém is a strategic region where the shipbuilding industry and river transport are key drivers of wealth and development.

Key points of the presentation:

Regional Importance: The ports of Pará handle more than 100 million metric tons of cargo annually, and nearly 10 million passengers travel on the Amazon rivers each year.

Sustainability and Innovation: Belém will also host COP 30 in 2025, positioning the city as the center of global discussions on sustainability—a central theme for the future of naval engineering.

Pan-American Unity: COPINAVAL 2027 will reaffirm the commitment to integration and technical excellence for the development of naval engineering on a global scale.
